Clare Walks Ramblers Guided Walk – Tulla

The next Clare Walks Ramblers Guided Walk takes place on 27th of June at Ardboola House. This is an easy to moderate looped  walk of 6km on quite local roads. In a change, after the walk, we will be dining Al Fresco under a canopy of Beech trees cooking some cocktail sausages with tasty rolls washed down with tea or coffee. Come along and enjoy a Guided Walk on Ballycuggaran, or Baile Ni Chogarain in Irish, which was homeland of the O’Cuggarans, an important family at the court of Brain Boru. This a flat easy route of 8km taking in Williamstown Pier and wonderful views over the river Shannon and the customary tea and scones at the Half Barrel on return. Guided Walk For Heritage Week To Bohatch Dolman.

A 12km looped guided walk from Mountshannon Harbour to Bohatch Dolmen, along part of the East Clare Way walking route. This is a moderate walk with some steep ascents. Bring a packed lunch for a stop at the portal dolmen, which is said to have been the burial place for local chieftains over 3,000 years ago. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear and fluids.
