Clare Walks Ramblers Guided Walk
We are walking the new Clootabonniv Bog loop in Connolly on the 13th of June at 7.30pm. This bog walk was developed by Connolly Tidy Village and is now a Looped Walk on the Mid Clare Way. This is a beautiful 5.5km easy to moderate loop starting from Carney's pub, just outside Connolly village. Clare Walks Guided Walk of Ballycuggaran Loop
Come along and enjoy a Guided Walk on Ballycuggaran, or Baile Ni Chogarain in Irish, which was homeland of the O’Cuggarans, an important family at the court of Brain Boru. This walk is 7km moderate to difficult walk and follows forest road, forest track and minor road through dense forest and open hillside on the shoulders of Feenlea Mountain and Crag. Ramblers Guided Walk
Our next Ramblers guided walk takes place on Thursday 26th September at 11am from The Piper’s Inn, Ogonnelloe. This walk is approx. 7km and follows quite roads and footpath. The first 2km of this walk is are uphill but the remaining 5km is downhill or flat, finishing at the Piper's Inn for the customary tea and scones. A 12km looped guided walk from Mountshannon Harbour to Bohatch Dolmen, along part of the East Clare Way walking route. This is a moderate walk with some steep ascents. Bring a packed lunch for a stop at the portal dolmen, which is said to have been the burial place for local chieftains over 3,000 years ago. Please wear suitable clothing and footwear and fluids.
