Guided Walk – Maghera, Tulla

A guided looped walk starting at Maghera Catholic Church. This is a 5.5km looped walk along quiet roads with some inclines. Walks are free with an optional donation which goes towards the future maintenance of both the East Clare Way and the Mid Clare Way. Feel free to bring your own refreshments or you can travel approx 6km to Tulla where you will find shops and cafes. If you would like to come along, please text 086 356 6293.

Guided Walk in Portumna

This will be slightly different from our regular walks, but a great walk has been organised for us by one of our regular walkers, Peter Martin. We will meet up at the Waterways Ireland offices in Portumna at 10.30am, and walk to the bridge which is due to open at 11am. There is a viewing platform where we can see the mechanism in action. Guided Walk – Graves of the Leinstermen Loop

The Graves of the Leinstermen Loop is mostly on very quiet tarmac road with the final descent on purpose-built gravel footpath, takes the walker around the western slopes of Tountinna Mountain, passing through remote countryside with exceptionally spectacular and impressive views of Lough Derg and the surrounding area. An 8km guided loop walk starting at Ballinruan church at 11am. This walk will follow quiet roads and forestry tracks with some inclines towards the finish point. In association with the College of Further Education, Scariff, we are holding a 7km guided loop walk to celebrate Heritage Week 2022. This walk will start at the Half Barrell in Whitegate at 11am, and will follow quiet roads to Derrainy Cillín, a children's burial ground, located in an extremely tranquil setting in Derrainy townland.
